Coicendence....

Many of you might know some drama we've had with cities and their inspectors. The last city we lived in thanks to inspectors we lost $500 on the house. One guy that passed our finished basement came back to say that he messed up and $500 needed to be fixed. I think it should have come out of the city's bill, but I was too sick to do anything about it. (I am going to eventually address my councilman Tio Paul, but since I don't live there anymore I'm not sure how much good that will do).

Well, this morning a neighbor came by to meet Batgirl and take her to ride scooters with her daughter. She was really nice. Two hours later they returned and Batgirl was in tears. The neighbor wasn't sure why. We both felt bad. After a little alone time Batgirl and I chatted and came to the conclusion she was a little overwhelmed and had a meltdown. She got upset. So I told her she needed to write a note and when Daddy A got home they could stop it by.

Fast forward to nightime. After our candlelight dinner of shrimp and corn on the cob, (I only ate corn. Batgirl loves shrimp! We had to limit her to 9 good sized shrimp.) they were off. They started chatting with Daddy A about the garage. We've been trying to build one, but the city and their inspectors aren't working with us. We can't get a straight answer. One guy says one tings and then another guy says something else. It turns out thatBatgirls' friends dad works at the city, in the dept we need. He offered to check out our situation and walk us through all the paperwork and other necessary steps we need to take. Daddy A seems more pleased. He keeps saying what are the odds. Well they seem to be in our favor. Someone out there likes us. :) Happy June!

Relief

the sweet feeling of relief. :) After over 24 hours of tear drawing pain...I now know the sweet feeling of relief. It makes life more bearable. It was a hard day being in so much pain. It took a phone call to my old RN and then one from her supervisor, but finally I got another dressing change and they pulled the PICC line out just enough. The crazy thing was how almost instantaneous the relief was. My arm is still sore obviously, but I don't roll out the tears touching it or brushing it wrong. Now hopefully it won't become infected. It's a bit red today, but nothing to worry about. :)

I'm just happy. I ate corn on the cob. I was telling Batgirl how and where my grandma used to grow corn and people came from all over to buy it. She replied, "I know, I remember when I was three and Grandma made corn on the cob. It was so delicious." It's so funny how she always tells me remember when I was little or five, etc. She's just so grown up. I love that girl.

Batgirlisms

Batgirl is so curious about the baby. She's come to terms that it's a boy. She often tells me that she has dreams of him. She hopes he has the same color skin, hair and eyes. She dreamt he was wearing an yellow outfit and red blanket once. An then a blue outfit and soft blankie. (Mi Guelita, hoping to help her like the brother coming let her pick out some outfits and blankies. She was ecstatic!

"The baby is going to be half-Mexican like us and half-human," she said at breakfast.
"Do you mean American?" I said giggling.
"Oh yeah, that too." I think she's a bit into Superheroes. It all comes down to humans or aliens.

She awoke in the middle of the night on Thursday. She wanted breakfast. I told her to go back to sleep. Then she came over to me... "Mom, do you remember before you had the baby and were sick and we used to do stuff all the time?"
"Yes, sweetie," I replied
"I really miss those days, " she responded.
"Me too," I mustered as my heartbreaks because I feel like the absolute worst mom.

Even though we are in the house, we didn't quite have it all together. IE, the first night she was trying to go to sleep and didn't like all the light. I told her to close the door.
"I hate to tell you this, but I don't have a door. Seriously mom," she replies.
"Oh yeah, well put on your sleeping mask then."

Trying to resolve my arm dilemma today, I mentioned that I was waiting for the nurse to call.
"The torturer?" she expressed with concern.
"No another one," I looked to see relief on her face.

Yesterday when the RN was changing my dressing, the pain overcame me and I burst into tears as I told her it really hurts. Batgirl ran to my side and grabbed my hand, "It's okay mom. I'm here." She's always there to take care of me.

We are thankful for

IN LAWS!! Grandpa B surprised us today and mowed our lawn. In the heat of the day nonetheless. On top of that he took Batgirl on numerous walks around the block on her new scooter (more about that later). As if that wasn't enough, both grandma and grandpa b showed up and took her for the late afternoon/early evening. She was a little disappointed that her cousin A wasn't there, but managed to get over it very quickly. She loves her grandparents.

DADDY A!! Batgirl has been wanting a scooter for quite some time now. We finally settled that if she earned enough money she could buy one. (She got one at her Daddy D's but he won't let her bring it home). So Daddy A went to pick her up from Daddy D and they had to make a stop at Target. Well, they returned with the necesities, which I guess included a brand new Barbie scooter. She is thrilled. She's pretty good on it too.

NEIGHBORS!! We have some great neighbors. One of them is in her early twenties but has some health issues. She's a doll. She's the same height as Batgirl. Batgirl was telling Grandpa B aobut her today. She said she's looks like my age, but she's not. I think she's a teenager. (That's old for her.) I also have a friend Ruby that lives down the street. She's been helping me with Batgirl. Everyday now she asks if Ruby is coming today. She's disappointed if I say no. :)

TIA C Y GUELITOS!! They have been so great to take care of us. They made sure we always had something to eat when we lived in our Condo. (The irony of the move is that we were moving so close to their house. Then two weeks before we moved, they moved blocks away from where we used to live. We miss them, but are grateful they have more room. It's definitely a quiet neighborhood.) Luckily they haven't forgotten us. They continue to surprise us with phone calls and comida. Los queremos mucho!
